A compilation of experimental type projects including
a movie poster, magazine spread, short video, and documentation of both
analog and digital processes of letterform abstraction and transformation.
Hieroglyfografi
I began with the letterform R from the typeface Clarendon. The goal of this project was to abstract the letterform as much as possible,
creating new letterforms, or glyphs of an imaginative, unique style. I closely examined the letter’s contours, details and idosyncracies, extracting
its best qualities to produce a long sequence of forms all my own. The size, format, and placement of the final series give the book an intrinsic sculptural quality.
Flaunt Magazine pread
A marriage of analog typographic sculpture, hand illustration, digital photo, and typography. The spread features drawings by Thurston Moore for Flaunt magazine.
