Statement: An avatar is an incarnation of the divine on Earth.
As we have adapted this principle to technology, it has become
a machine-mediated icon of layered identity, reinforcing personal mythologies and ideals. I will prove the mediation of technology
to be one-sided, rendering impossible the transcendence
and dissolution of ideals through the act of love.

In this experimental documentary, I explored the phenomenon
of online correspondence and our ability to feel emotion through machines. I employed a layered process of remediation, generating animations combined with raw footage, projecting
them over live performance and re-enhancing them in yet more post-production. The story is a highly personal narrative, translated into a ‘virtually’ universal experience of currently burgeoning developments in cyber networking.
